 | Wednesday, August 1st, 2029: Tony Soto Crowned July Batter of the Month Tony Soto hit the baseball out of sight all month long and was voted the NY Metro League's Batter of the Month for July. The Howard Beach second baseman raked enemy pitchers for a remarkable .352 average with 32 hits in 91 at-bats. He thumped 8 home runs, batted in 25 runs, scored 21 times, and collected 14 walks, putting up an OBP of .434 and a 1.148 OPS over 23 games. Soto is knocking the tar out of the baseball this season. He has thumped 126 hits in 479 plate appearances for a .309 batting average. He has launched 22 home runs, driven in 68 runs, and scored 87 times.
