| Breaking News | | Monday, August 20th, 2029: Joe Gomer of the Chandler Imperials Grabs Sub League 1 Player of Week Award Joe Gomer would not be denied the Sub League 1 Player of the Week Award for this past week. His consistent stroke, which produced 13 hits, 4 RBI and 4 extra-base hits, made him--at least in the minds of the Chandler fan base--the clear favorite to win the honor.
"You just go out there and do what you have to do," said Gomer, "No offense to the fans, but I block them out when I'm at bat. I'm up there to get a hit, or advance a runner, not to get caught up in the emotion of the moment. There's time for all that after the game."
Gomer is one of the preeminent hitters in the game this season. His swing is smooth, crisp, and powerful. He has batted .330 with 121 hits--44 for extra bases--and torched pitchers for 43 RBI with 32 doubles and 11 home runs. He also has walked 36 times, stolen 3 bases, compiled a .395 OBP, and scored 52 runs. | | Thursday, July 19th, 2029: Crepeau Fires Shutout in Chandler Victory Roger Crepeau of the Chandler Imperials was in command from start to finish in his shutout win over the Spokane Dingoes. He struck out 4, walked 2, and allowed 2 hits. "I felt strong the entire game," Crepeau said. "I felt like I had my good stuff. It was just one of those nights when everything was working."
When Crepeau strides to the hill with a poise beyond his years, he is living his childhood dream. He is doing what he always wanted to do and he is putting up some enviable numbers so far this season. The young hurler has fashioned a 13-12 mark, 4.01 ERA and thrown 215.1 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .277 against him and he has logged 128 strikeouts. | | Wednesday, July 18th, 2029: Chandler Blanks Dingoes, Tatro Notches Win "Shawn Tatro is really a good pitcher, when he throws strikes early in the count," said his manager after the Chandler hurler tossed a complete game 3-hit shutout against the Spokane Dingoes.
"I went right after each hitter, trying to get ahead in the count," said Tatro. "I wanted them to swing the bats and keep my pitch count down. It worked. I felt strong the whole game, even in the last two innings." Tatro walked 2 and struck out 5 in the victory.
So far here's how his stats look in 2029: Tatro has a 7-17 won-lost record and has appeared in 25 games, logged 209 innings pitched and fanned 110 batters. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | P John Staab | Torn Back Muscle | 8 months | Not on DL | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 46-84, .354 PCT | | Position in Division | 5th, 48.0 GB | | Record at home | 25-40, .385 PCT | | Record on the road | 21-44, .323 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 4-6, .400 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 17-24, .415 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 5-25, .167 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 41-59, .410 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 3-7, .300 PCT | | Record in April | 12-16, .429 PCT | | Record in May | 12-17, .414 PCT | | Record in June | 7-19, .269 PCT | | Record in July | 10-18, .357 PCT | | Record in August | 5-14, .263 PCT |
