Rueben Gourley of the Paddock Lake Immigrants spun his magic on the Madison Moths today. He blanked them on 3 hits, registering 7 strikeouts and no bases on balls. "The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Gourley said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down." Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, the Paddock Lake skipper said, "We got solid pitching, good defense, and we took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations. This was just a solid performance throughout the lineup."
Gourley is having an acceptable year thus far. The 24-year-old has won 13 and lost 12, recorded 138 strikeouts and 73 bases on balls in 198.2 innings with a 2.99 ERA. Opponents have hit .217 against him.

 | Saturday, July 21st, 2029: Moths Pitching Can't Stop Hot Bat of Minneapolis's Delmonte
Dennis Delmonte was on fire today, going 5 for 7 against Madison.
D. Delmonte singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, doubled in the 10th and singled in the 12th.
Delmonte is hitting .309 in 2029. He has added 39 RBI and 9 home runs and has gotten on base at a .386 rate.

 | Thursday, July 5th, 2029: Minneapolis Shuts out Madison
The Madison Moths met their match today in Minneapolis hurler Robert Shepler. He kept them guessing the whole game and spun a 4-hit shutout. "He just worked us over good," the Madison skipper said. "He probably didn't even take a shower after the game. I don't think he even worked up a sweat. They could probably pitch him again tomorrow." In the victory Shepler whiffed 7 and gave up 2 bases on balls.
Shepler has registered 10 wins and 5 losses this season with a 2.88 ERA, and he has whiffed 102 batters in 137.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .192 against him.
