"I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," commented Selvidge after posting a .435 average, a .519 on base percentage, and a 1.043 slugging percentage.
Selvidge has played like an All-Star this year. So far he has lashed out 102 hits in 445 plate appearances for a sensational .260 BA, driven in 45 runs and scored 74 times. He has collected 34 doubles, 13 home runs, walked 45 times, stolen 27 bases and compiled a .337 OBP. If these stats are any indication, then he could create quite a stir in the league for years to come. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 90-30, .750 PCT | | Position in Division | 1st, - GB | | Record at home | 47-13, .783 PCT | | Record on the road | 43-17, .717 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 10-4, .714 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 27-11, .711 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 31-9, .775 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 59-21, .738 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 7-3, .700 PCT | | Record in April | 20-8, .714 PCT | | Record in May | 21-8, .724 PCT | | Record in June | 20-5, .800 PCT | | Record in July | 23-6, .793 PCT | | Record in August | 6-3, .667 PCT |
