 | Monday, June 4th, 2029: First Baseman Mehaffey of the Gophers Earns CL Player of the Week Honors Bushwood Gophers first baseman Herb Mehaffey walked away with the Continental League Player of the Week Award today after putting up some impressive numbers over the past seven days. Mehaffey batted .480, driving in 7 runs and thumping 3 extra-base hits along the way. "The Gophers fans are really behind me right now," observed the 30-year-old. "That helps. They give you the confidence to go out there and do better." So far this season Mehaffey has batted .351 in 269 plate appearances. He has walked 42 times, scored 49 runs, knocked in 65 runs, and put up a .446 on base percentage. He has also doubled 10 times, tripled 1 times, and belted 21 balls out of the park. |
