It was a week to remember for Herb Mehaffey. After wrapping up a torrid week at the plate, the Bushwood Gophers first baseman was named the CL Player of the Week.
Mehaffey collected 10 hits in 21 at bats for a .476 average. He also accounted for 7 RBI and swatted 3 home runs.
Herb Mehaffey is swinging at a .346 clip on the year. He has hit 39 homers among his 68 extra-base hits, driven in 115 runs, and scored 105 runs as well.

 | Monday, August 6th, 2029: Red-Hot Aleman of the Gophers Sizzles with Bat--Cops CL Player of the Week
With some great hand-eye coordination and a little help from Lady Luck, Bushwood Gophers second baseman Maels Aleman took the CL by storm this past week, belting 10 hits including 5 extra-base hits, along with a .480 OBP and 8 RBI, to take the latest Player of the Week honors.
"The ball was looking like a beach ball all week," a happy Aleman said to SION reporters. "When it's that big, it doesn't matter where they throw it--I can hit it anywhere."
This season, Maels is stroking the ball at a .295 clip with 55 RBI and 55 runs scored. He has piled up 116 hits, including 33 doubles and 9 home runs. He has walked 24 times and struck out 71 times.

Today the Continental League announced its Player of the Week award winner: Bushwood Gophers left fielder Roman Robledo, who batted .556 with 3 home runs and 6 RBI. He amassed a 1.667 slugging percentage, thanks to 4 extra-base hits.
