Howard Beach announced that they have signed 33-year-old reliever Richard Mains to a 2-year, $2,820,000 agreement that will have him playing at Pittsburgh Park for the foreseeable future.
So far in his career, Mains has copped 36 saves and fashioned a 22 and 35 won-lost mark. In 418 games he has fanned 471 batters in 598 IP and logged a 4.41 ERA.

Satellite's Reid Vegas breezed through the Guidos lineup today, collecting a 5-hit shutout along the way. Vegas fanned 7 as well.
"I didn't really feel like I had my game today," Vegas confessed, "but some days are like that--you just gotta go with what you have."
The 2029 season translates one way to Vegas: wins and losses. That's what he is paid to do. Currently, here is the way his season is going: a record of 23-4 with 282 strikeouts and 48 bases on balls in 296 innings, and a 2.74 ERA.

 | Monday, August 20th, 2029: NY Metro League Player of the Week No Surprise--Campo of Guidos Wins It
Pablo Campo has been swinging the bat like a lethal weapon of late. After punching across 12 RBI last week and slugging his way to a 1.437 OPS figure in last week's games, the Howard Beach Guidos center fielder was voted the NY Metro League Player of the Week. Campo drilled 12 hits, 6 of which went for extra bases, including 2 home runs.
Thus far this year, the 26-year-old center fielder has a .280 batting average with a .368 on base percentage. Campo has cracked 136 hits including 17 home runs, scored 80 times, and banged in 86 runs as well.
